Boarding students and campers live in our dormitories and cottages in double and triple rooms.
Students and campers are housed separately by program. We also offer the option of being a day student, however boarding is encouraged as communal living is an important part of the academic student’s overall learning experience and plays a vital role in forming bonds within the units of the recreational camps.
Rooms are furnished with beds, desks, and clothing shelves.
Each student is responsible for the condition of his or her dormitory room and some time is set aside during the daily schedule for clean-up.
Boys and girls are housed in separate facilities and grouped by age/interest.
Each dormitory is supervised by resident faculty and counselors. These staff members serve as advisors to students and campers, which ensures that an adult is always available for assistance and guidance.
Constant staff presence is essential to developing an atmosphere of learning and safety.
Students and campers receive three balanced meals each day.
Beachfront barbecues are held once a week.
All off campus meals during weekend excursions are provided for.
LINENS AND LAUNDRY
Students and campers are provided with linens on request, at no extra charge.
The academy also provides an on-campus laundry service an average of once per week.
Medical personnel are always on campus, and a hospital is located nearby.
All students and campers are required to have their own medical insurance program prior to arriving at Academy by the Sea. A temporary medical insurance program is available and required for all international students at a nominal fee.
RECREATION HALL AND CAMPUS STORE
Our oceanfront recreation hall is furnished with big screen televisions, pool tables, foosball, and ping-pong tables.
Connected to the recreation hall is a school/camp store where students and campers can purchase personal items.
